Corsa DR
In 1989, just five years after it was born, Avanti released a road bike into the market that took the road cycling scene down under by storm. It was a lime, lean, mean, aero race machine and was touted as a superlight, finely tuned race bike.

It set a new benchmark for aero focused road bikes with its aero tubing and aggressive geometry and over many years in the pelotons’ built a legacy of high performance and success with numerous gold medals and world championships

Now the Corsa is back and more than living up to its legacy.  The Corsa DR was born out of an approach where the structural, aerodynamic, stylistic and ergonomic requirements of the frame were all developed in parallel from the very beginning of the project.

Taking its cues from the GOLD and PURPLE Award winning Project Evo II time trial and track bikes, the Corsa DR further develops component integration and detailed design to a level not seen before on a road bike.

The Corsa DR’s downward curving arc at the front end of the frame is a detail that is fast becoming an icon of Avanti racing bikes. Complimenting this arcing detail, the rest of the silhouette is built from straight lines and arcs, with key surfaces defined by crisp edges and controlled surface intersections.

Innovative details such as integrated quick release levers, an integrated seat post clamp, internally routed cabling, and tear drop headset spacers, all add an incredible sophistication to the product, whilst also keeping these mechanisms out of the wind, and ultimately reducing drag. The ADT designed integrated quick release levers codenamed IQ are a world first for packaging the skewer lever into the frame and fork.

Being an exercise in creating something that is both iconic and yet reductionist, the beauty of the Corsa DR is twofold; a striking silhouette from afar, and an object where what's not seen when viewed up close makes it a pure and efficient piece of design. This design approach coupled with hundreds of hours of CFD and FEA analysis have created seven sizes of frame and two forks which optimize performance, minimize aerodynamic drag and ensure the bike fits a very wide range of cyclists.

This is Corsa.
