Ironman Cairns approaching - Cameron Brown talks Ironman buildup.

Cameron Brown Chrono Evo II

Hi there

Well I have my next Ironman race this weekend (Sunday 3rd June) in Cairns, Austraila. I arrived here last week to acclimatize but things have been tough leading into the race as I have been suffering a sinus infection, hopefully this will all be gone by Sunday and I will be feeling 100% again. It should be a tough race with 2x World Ironman Champ Chris Mccormack on the start line along with a whole host of top Aussies.

The weather has been unusally cool with temps only hitting 24-25c and lots of rain but Sundays weather is looking much better and it should be back around the normal highs of 28-29c for this time of the year, not bad for winter! The race should be fast especially in the swim as this is crocodile country and there are some big crocs out there! The bike is mostly flat for the first 50km and then we hit the coast on the way up to Port Douglas which will have a few hills to break everything up. Finally the run should be a fast course as it's completly flat but if the heat and humidity come out then it will be a different story.

I'll be in touch after the race, Kind Regards Cameron Brown
