Michael Torckler, PureBlack Racings highest placed rider in today’s stage in 19th, is happy with the way today’s race went.

“I have been feeling really good,” said Michael, “ It was a nice day, perfect temperature and not too hard sitting in the bunch.

Director Sportif, John “Harry” Harris said despite the tough course the team rode extremely well to not lose too much time in their overall standings.

“It was a solid effort from the boys,” said Harry, “the bigger teams such as Competitive Cycling Racing Team controlled the race from the get go, didn’t make any mistakes and lifted the pace hard.”

Competitive Cycling Racing Team was defending the Yellow Jersey throughout the stage – not once letting a breakaway get too far ahead.

“Breakaways would occur and just be destroyed and brought back,” said Harry.

“It was the last 10km where all the action went down,” said Michael,” “the climb definitely separated the bunch only 1km into it.”

Mont Megantic features each year in Le Tour de Beauce as the summit finish – the category one climb has an elevation of 1,108m over 7km.

Stage Four is an individual time trial over 20km through St Benoit-Labre.
