$50,000 worth of Avanti bikes has been won by Christchurch local. - Jamie Carter of Christchurch has won the ultimate Christmas gift. Carter was recently drawn as the winner of $50,000 worth of bikes from Avanti, the major prize in their competition celebrating the company’s 30th birthday.

The promotion offered consumers the chance to win $50,000 of Avanti bikes, spot prizes on social media and collect free Limited Edition Avanti birthday drink bottles – using a simple email opt in to Avanti bikes as entry.

The $50,000 prize from Avanti is to be redeemed over 5 years, with Carter eligible to choose any bike in the Avanti range, up to the value of $10,000. That’s a lot of bike – if Carter selected Avanti’s premium road bike, the Avanti Corsa DR Team, she would be riding a bike with the same technology as Oceania’s most successful continental cycling team, the Avanti IsoWhey Sports Cycling Team.

Since 1985 the pioneering kiwi bike brand has developed thousands of bikes, with the most recent platform, the Avanti Corsa ER (Endurance Road), winning a bronze in the recent 2015 New Zealand Best Awards. Over the years Avanti bikes has also been linked to a number of cycling medals won on the world stage in Ironman, Track, Team Pursuit, Mountain biking and Road racing events, with the company’s support of the New Zealand Olympic team at this year’s Rio Olympics a continuation of the brand’s commitment to the sport.

30 years of pushing innovation in cycling has been quite the ride for Avanti. Kim Struthers, Avanti’s Country Manager commented, “We couldn’t achieve 30 years in the cycling industry without the support of riders across the country getting behind the brand and sharing in our passion, thank you for helping us to reach this milestone.”

With a range covering almost every cycling discipline; mountain, road, BMX, triathlon, track, right through to single-speed kid’s bikes, Carter’s hardest choice will be what to ride and where to ride it first.
