2010 BMX NZ Nationals - Sarah Walker

Well, Nationals are over for another year and it was a weekend to be enjoyed by pretty much everyone! The weather was perfect, the track was fast and the atmosphere was awesome with racing being so exciting to watch.
Friday practice went really well. I got the track dialed in and had my first go at the mens pro section which is a 10m long jump out of the first corner. Made it (just) but was the first (and only) girl to do the jump that some of the guys were struggling with.
Saturday racing went awesome. I was feeling really strong out of the gate and won every race from start to finish and ended the day with my 11th National Title from 11 tries in the 20" class.
Sunday was a little more interesting with a good crash in the final of my cruiser race attempting to jump the guys pro section again but not making it. It didn't change the results of the Cruiser class however as I won that as well, taking the double home for the weekend.
At camp this week gearing up for Europe then off next Friday! Will be off before I know it!
Thanks for another great New Zealand season, now to take on the rest of the World! Will let you know how it goes overseas.
