Sheppard Industries and Avanti Bikes are in discussions with PureBlack Racing (PBR) with a view to continuing the success of the New Zealand team on the international stage.
Avanti and PBR are working closely to resolve the future of the PBR team, which involves an offer from Avanti to PBR with the view of working together moving forward.
As a homegrown brand, Avanti has a long and strong association with New Zealand cycling and has made a significant investment over a number of years in the domestic cycling scene.
We at Avanti are very proud of what we’ve achieved with PBR. We’ve stood side by side with the PBR team to ensure it has the funding to compete successfully on the world stage.
Avanti has always prided itself on our commitment to the cycling community and developing cycling in general for Australia and New Zealand with the support and investment in individual athletes and teams, cycling facilities and the governing bodies of cycling.
Avanti’s continued commitment to cycling is stronger than ever with a range of initiatives in the pipeline for 2013 and beyond. This includes the imminent launch of an Australian pro cycling team, along with the opening later in the year of the AvantiDrome – a purpose-built national centre of excellence in Cambridge, New Zealand.
In a difficult sponsorship market for cycling, Avanti continues to provide significant commercial support for the sport in Australia and New Zealand.
