Well I'm back into the racing this weekend after a shocker last week at the Phuket 70.3 Half Ironman in Thailand. I should have stayed in bed as I felt weak and had nothing in me what so ever through the swim bike and run and finished well down the field. It didn't help when I punctured with 10km to go but it didn't matter as I was aleady well back.
I hope to feel better this weekend as I race in the Kelloggs Nutri-Grain Half Ironman in Taupo, New Zealand. It will be another building race towards a busy schedule over the next few weeks with my defence of the New Zealand half Ironman Championships in Tauranga on January 5th, then it's the Auckland 70.3 Half Ironman on January 20th which will be fantastic as athletes ride over the Auckland harbour bridge, something that never happens! Then It will be 6 weeks before I tackle the New Zealand Ironman on March 2nd.
I'll be in touch after this weekends Half Ironman.
