Pro Triathlete Nicky Samuels hailing from Wanaka first entered into the sport after persuasion from current world number 1 Samantha Warriner, jumping at the opportunity of another sporting challenge and had great success early on.
After going to Beijing in 2008 as stand in for the NZ Tri team Nicky came back to find soon after that she had a fractured pelvis and has spent recent times working on getting back to world class level.
